Stop wasting money paying ATM fees

It may not seem like a lot of money to pay an ATM fee of $1.50 but just think about much money you are really spending! Most of the time you get charged a fee from the bank that sponsors the ATM and an additional fee from you own bank for using a foreign machine. Just how much money are we spending on ATM fees?

According to Kiplinger Washington Editors, Inc. Americans paid more than $4 billion last year! Some banks are charging more than $3 per transaction for the convenience factor of using another ATM and that’s just their fee. Some pay as much as $5 per transaction to get money from another ATM machine!

Stop the madness, don’t waste all this money on ATM fees. Many banks offer programs that eliminate these fees by offering more banks in your network. Check the back of your ATM card to see which banks are in your network. This will at least save you 1/2 of the transaction fee.

Another obvious way to avoid the fee is to just use a debit card. Almost everywhere takes credit and debit card these days and there is no transaction fee to the consumer. If you have to have cash plan ahead and save money. Every dollar you save today will make your life in the future much more rewarding.
