Today my wife reminded me that Chick-fil-a was giving away a free 3 pack of their chick-n-minis for breakfast to every customer. She tried to leave the house early enough to stop by on her way to work, but it never worked out. Since I didn’t have to be at work as early as her I decided to drive by just to see how late I would be if I stopped to pick up a free three pack.
As I approached the restaurant I could see a massive amount of people in the parking lot and the drive thru line was wrapped all the way around the building and even more cars were waiting to get into the line. I wasn’t sure how long it would take to get through the line but I concluded it wasn’t worth the time for less then $3.
After seeing the crazy amount of people waiting to get their free breakfast I started to wonder how much money they were losing on Thursdays. I wonder if they actually are losing money? Do they make enough profit from selling drinks to break even or make a small profit? I’m sure their marketing team has it figured out but I”m amazed at the power of a free breakfast. I also wonder how many of those people in line showed up late for work in order to get the free breakfast. I also wonder if anyone got in trouble from their boss for being late?
