You always hear that you should shop around for the best deals on certain items and now I know why. Certain stores greatly inflate their prices on certain items to make up the difference on other more competitively priced items. The trick is to find the items that are inflated and buy them elsewhere.
A few days ago I went shopping for an HDMI cable. I started my search at a popular chain electronics/appliances store. The retail price for the cables were $75! After consulting with a sales associate he told me he could actually sell them to me for about half price, $40. I still thought that was crazy for a cable so I decided to shop around.
My next stop was the internet. I did a quick search at a couple of discount computer websites and found the cable for less than $8. I’m not sure about the quality but I would think that an HDMI cable is about the same everywhere. I’m going to order one online and save my $68 and I’ll let you know about the quality soon!
