You probably already know that most things in life are simple but not easy. I was inspired today by Free Money Finance and their article entitled “Personal Finance Success is Rather Simple, but Not Easy“. The article references Larry Winget and his explination of how everthing in life comes down to simple things.
There are so many things we already know but pay thousands of dollars for other people to tell us what we already know and then don’t listen. For example if you want to lose weight you need to eat less and exercise more. If you burn more calories than you eat the weight will drop. In personal finances if you spend less money than you make you will have money to put into savings or pay off debt. Those are really simple concepts to understand but not easy to implement.
Every year we pay thousands of dollars for diet books, exercise videos, diet pills and weight loss specialists. Most of that money is thrown down the drain because no action is taken. We spend thousands of dollars on books, magazines and videos in hopes of finding the next get out of debt solution only to realize we’ve wasted another 29.95 on a worthless video that told me us to create a budget and spend less than we earn.
The answer to our problems in life are simple, but in order to solve the problems we have to take action!
